Boston Public Library Digitization Project

Exciting news . . . Boston Public Library is going to digitize a lot of government documents. [Free registration required to view article.] That is exciting news because government documents often contain genealogical information; however, the thing that really excites me in the article is this statement:

The Boston Public Library is also interested in scanning local Boston and Massachusetts documents and is in the process of creating its own digital archive.

British Books Digitization

This is really exciting news coming out of England. More than 100,000 books are being digitized and made available to the public. These are mostly 19th century works whose authors died before 1936. It says they'll be free at British universities, but it doesn't say how or if they'll be marketed to other countries.
