A Curiosity

I found this item on an AP feed at another paper and had to find out more about it. Apparently there's a controversy brewing in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho over the proposed location of a new funeral home. They wish to locate across from the senior citizens center. So, what's your opinion, is it handy or too close for comfort?

Hi, Lori, Coeur d'Alene (pronounced CORE duh LANE), Idaho is just 30 minutes east of us on I-90, here in Spokane. I hadn't heard about this controversy, but rarely watch the news.

Lori, This is "too close or comfort" in my opinion, if the senior citizens center is of a nursing home variety. If the center is just for social/educational activities, then the location of a funeral home is just "handy."

I'm always amazed [in Mississippi] at the number of schools located alongside cemeteries. So if little kids have to look out their classroom windows to see a burial ground, what's wrong with some "seniors" seeing a funeral home on their way to play bingo?

Yep, I'll agree with Terry. Too close if the seniors live there! Not so bad if they're just there for the day.
